Our association was glad to take part to this special event, giving our opinion on how to fight discrimination to built together a more respectful place to live in. Here we took a lesson in which we had the opportunity to present our project Discrikamira, that is strongly linked to the main theme of the project led by EPEKA. Our innovative project in fact want to rise awareness against stereotypes and prejudices and to give help especially to the Roma women to fight against them, giving them the appropriate means.
The Association EPEKA Serbia, Soc. Ent., organized a mobilty for youth workers as a part of the project Fighting Corruption – Expanding the Union. The mobilty’s focus was on corruption in private sector. Title of the mobilty is Corruption in Private Sector. Mobility was attended by 22 youth workers from 10 project countries (Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain). Our association was glad to take part to this project as a partner and we want to thanks EPEKA for inviting us. We were proud to take part to the second training course of the project, which took place from 21 -26 September 2019.
We could gave our opinion, taking a lesson in order to contribute with and other point of view, the one we developed in our Italian experience.
On the 23rd september evening, the conference became more informal, but not less important. In fact we decided to have a moment of recollection in front of the monument f the singer Saban Bajramovic , a famous Roma jazz man, born in Niš. The choice of this place was made because this singer was so important in spreading the idea of inclusion of Roma community, being an ambassador of the Roma community all over the world. So he embodies both the importance of the inclusion and of the power of music (and of course of culture, which music is part of). Moreover the applicants could find in him a powerful and inspiring figure, an example to follow. Linked to this, our association presented the project Discrikamira.
